Use the AIDSinfo clinical trial search to produce a list of HIV/AIDS clinical trials in the area of research that interests you. Click on the title of any trial in the list to see the ClinicalTrials.gov trial summary with more information about the study.

Search Term

Performs a general search in all sections of the study record, including title, description, conditions, interventions, and locations. Your list of search results will include all studies that contain the term(s). Your search results will automatically be limited to HIV-related studies. You don't need to add the terms "HIV" or "AIDS."

Recruitment

Also known as "Enrollment Status." Limits search results to studies that are open or closed. New volunteers may be able to participate in open studies, but not in closed studies.

Study Results

Limits your AIDSinfo clinical trial search results based on whether or not the study has results published in ClinicalTrials.gov. Choosing "with results" will only show studies from ClinicalTrials.gov that have published results. Your AIDSinfo clinical trial search results will be a list of clinical trial summaries and not a list of journal article abstracts.

Study Type

Limits search results to any of the following study types:
  • Interventional
  • Observational
  • Expanded Access 

Conditions

Performs a search in sections of the study record describing the diseases or conditions being studied. Your search results will automatically be limited to HIV-related studies. You don't need to add the terms "HIV" or "AIDS."

Interventions

Performs a search in sections of the study record listing the drugs, devices, procedures, or vaccines used in a trial. Try to use the generic name of a drug; the brand name is often not listed in the study record. To find the generic name of a drug, use the AIDSinfo drug database. Your search results will automatically be limited to HIV-related studies. You don't need to add the terms "HIV" or"AIDS."

Outcome Measures

Performs a search in sections of the study listing the outcome measures used to quantify study results. Your search results will automatically be limited to HIV-related studies. You don't need to add the terms "HIV" or "AIDS."

Study ID

Performs a search in sections of the study listing identification numbers, including National Clinical Trials Identifier (NCT ID) and protocol ID numbers.

State

Select a state to limit your search results to studies with locations in that state.

City or Location

Enter the name of a city (such as Los Angeles) or facility (for example, Mayo Clinic) to find specific study locations. Your search results will include only studies with locations in the specified city or facility. Not all study records include this level of detail.

Gender

Limits search results to studies that include participants of the specified gender (female or male). If you do not select a gender, your search results will include studies for both men and women.

Age Group

Limits search results to those studies that include at least one of the specified age ranges. More than one age group can be selected. If you do not select an age group, your search results will include studies with participants from all age groups.

Phase

Limits search results to studies that are labeled with at least one of the specified phases. More than one phase can be selected. If you do not select a study phase, your search results will include clinical trials in all study phases.

Funded By

Limits search results to studies that have at least one sponsor of the specified type(s). More than one sponsor type can be selected. If you do not select any organization type, your search results will include studies with sponsors from all organization types.
